What is the density of PP plastic sheet? Function and Application of PP Plastics

Release date:2019-10-08 10:02
Polypropylene (PP) extrusion sheet is a plastic sheet made by extrusion, calendering, cooling and cutting of PP resin with various functional additives. What is the density of PP plastic sheet?

It is much stiffer than PE and has higher melting point. Because homopolymer PP is very brittle when its temperature is higher than 0 C, many commercial PP materials are irregular copolymers with 1-4% ethylene or clamp copolymers with higher ethylene content. Copolymer PP has lower thermal distortion temperature (100 C), low transparency, low glo

The strength of PP increases with the increase of ethylene content. The softening temperature of PP is 150 C. Because of its high crystallinity, the surface stiffness and scratch resistance of this material are very good. There is no environmental stress cracking in PP. Usually, PP is modified by adding glass fiber, metal additive or thermoplastic rubber. The MFR of PP ranges from 1 to 40. Low MFR P P material has better impact resistance but lower ductility. For the same MFR material, the strength of copolymer type is higher than that of homopolymer type. As a result of crystallization, the shrinkage of PP is quite high, generally 1.8-2.5%. And the directional uniformity of shrinkage rate is much better than that of PE-HD and other materials. The shrinkage can be reduced to 0.7% by adding 30% glass additive. Homopolymer and copolymer PP materials have excellent hygroscopicity, acid-base corrosion resistance and solubility resistance. However, it has no resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons (such as benzene) and chlorinated hydrocarbons (carbon tetrachloride) solvents. PP is not as antioxidant as PE at high temperature.
